Luke Garcia was born and raised in the state of Washington and attended the University of Washington where he was awarded a degree in History and English. He attended UC Davis School of Law at King Hall where he focused his studies on negotiation and alternative dispute resolution i.e. arbitration and mediation.
While at King Hall, Mr. Garcia founded the King Hall Negotiations Team, a student organization that increased the awareness of how negotiation interacts with the law. Prior to the creation of the King Hall Negotiations Team the school (like most law schools) could only offer enough negotiation course work to allow a very limited number of students to have a course in negotiation. Now the King Hall Negotiations Team is open to the whole student body and boasts an average participation of over half the students each year. In addition, students can participate every year instead of merely receiving one course in negotiation tactics and theory. The team has gone on since it’s founding to win both the national and international negotiations competitions and continues to grow in prestige.
After law school, Mr. Garcia worked for a very high volume debtors law firm. There he helped thousands of debtors file for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. He also established the majority of the law firms litigation and motion practice while managing a staff of up to 12 legal assistants/paralegals and 4 attorneys. The firm also handled real estate for distressed property owners. Mr. Garcia has helped hundreds of homeowners achieve loan modifications to save their homes. Additionally, he assisted hundreds of clients who could not afford their home to safely and legally rid themselves of a property that was slowly destroying their financial stability and happiness.
While he was very grateful for the experience that such a high volume practice provided and the opportunity to help so many clients, he was never truly satisfied with how clients are processed and treated in high volume practices.
Now he works for himself and makes his own rules. The very first rule he made is that each client will receive quality and compassion. That rule launched the law firms mission statement “Quality you trust and compassion you deserve” and it has been the mission statement ever since.
He has been featured on television and radio as an experienced authority on bankruptcy and real estate law. Additionally, he has spoken to community groups and professional associations as a guest lecturer on real estate law.
In his off time he enjoys hiking, camping, playing guitar and chess, riding his Harley, and spending time with his wife and their little dog “Maeby”.
